Hey bird lovers!
Today’s video discusses the signs our cockatiels show us when they are happy and content. It’s a redo of my older video with more information and cute clips!
Remember, I know “happy” is an anthropomorphic term (human attributes onto things) but it’s the easiest one to use for a video like this!

Hi David…I really do enjoy your videos! I believe both my Cockatiels are very happy bcuz they sing & chirp a lot! Charlie is 20+ yrs old, & Rascal’s about 2 1/2. They’re not the best of friends, but they do enjoy being together, & don’t like to be separated. I have a question for you that hopefully you can answer. Every morning when I uncover them, Charlie starts this routine of chirping/ screaming, & this goes on for 2 to 3 hrs. each day. I don’t think it’s bcuz he wants to come out bcuz whenever I try he always tries to bite me so I use the long ladder that I keep in the cage to take him out with. Once he’s out he seems to be okay with me holding & cuddling him, but he doesn’t particularly like it scritches. Once I put him back in the cage he usually continues chirping/screaming. Rascal could be right next to him or a few inches away & he still does it. Sometimes if Rascal gets too close to him or sings in his face, Charlie will peck at him. Do you have any idea why he does this? Thank you!
Good to know my little cockateils are happy. Recently one of mine has learned to make kissing noises and he loves doing it.
