I recently got a cockatiel too. She is around 2-3 years old and only used to eating pellets. However, it’s been difficult to change her diet bc she also started laying eggs so I’m afraid of making her grow too weak by changing the diet.
Omg my budgie was easier to train before we stopped his predominantly seed diet. He used to just eat it and move on. Now he thinks seed is scarce and starts regurgitating to make the most out of his seed whenever we give it to him as a treat. Now he has a healthier diet (quality organic pellets, veggies, seed only as treats) and isn’t overweight, but he’s not at all treat motivated nor toy motivated either. Only way to get him to do anything is to get the rest of the flock to do the thing cus then he gets competitive. Little dumpling.
